Wicomico County Republican Club Looking For Scholarship Candidate

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO. Md. - One of the most controversial, yet highly anticipated elections is over.

Even though Republicans fell short this time around, here in Wicomico County, the local club is focusing their efforts on an upcoming vote. However, this candidate is vying for cash.

"This is our second year giving out a $500 scholarship to any student in Wicomico County who graduates from a public high school , private high school or is home schooled," said Mark Kilmer, Vice President of the Wicomico County Republican Club.

Kilmer says the student they're looking for must be a registered republican and actively involved in civic duties.

"We're looking for people that can give back to the community. We're interested in careers like law enforcement, teaching, something like that," said Kilmer.

Last year, Kilmer says the committee offered two scholarships, but this time around they're only giving away one. Time is running out.

The deadline to apply is May 15th! To find more information, go to delmarvaed.org.
