FBI: VA Woman On Cruise Died Of Natural Causes

Posted: Updated:

BALTIMORE (AP) - The FBI says a Virginia woman found dead aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship died naturally of heart disease.

Sixty-four-year-old Katherine Kennedy, of Midlothian, was found dead by her husband Sunday in a cabin on Enchantment of the Seas. The dead was previously classified as suspicious.

FBI Baltimore field office spokesman Rich Wolf says the medical examiner's office in Baltimore determined that Kennedy died of hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Wolf told the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/10YDRmm ) that the death was initially labeled as suspicious because she had suffered a laceration on her forehead sometime before her death.

The Enchantment of the Seas sailed to Florida and the Bahamas on a seven-night trip.
