UPDATE: Identity Of Victim Of St. Michaels Fire Released

ST. MICHAELS, Md. - The victim found in a St. Michaels house fire, has now been identified. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has released the name of the man, whose body was found during a house fire on North Street on March 21st.

48-year-old Michael Louis Malkus was found in the bedroom, but Officials have not yet released the cause of death, as it is still under investigation at this time. Multiple agencies, including, State Fire Marshals, Maryland State Police and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are all working on the investigation into what caused the fire inside of the victim's room.

Damages to the home are estimated at $45,000. The Fire Marshal says that a working smoke detector was found, during the fire, on the counter of the kitchen in the home.
