Va Student Accused Of Possessing Unloaded BB Gun

Posted: Updated:

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (AP) - School officials in Virginia Beach say a fourth grader allegedly brought an unloaded BB gun onto a school bus.

Virginia Beach schools spokeswoman Lauren Wicks says the gun was discovered Wednesday morning in the Thoroughgood Elementary School student's book bag.

School Principal Cheryl Zigrang told parents about the incident in an automated phone call. The message says the student was detained when the bus reached the school. Zigrang says the student is being disciplined.

Media outlets report police weren't called.
