SALISBURY, Md. - The Mid-Shore YMCA in Salisbury officially kicked off their public capital campaign project in hopes of giving the facility a major make-over.
Of the $3.9 million they need, they've already raised $3 million. That's 75% of their goal. Now, they're looking for your help to come up with the rest.
"We're going to build a new family fun pool with slides and pop up park, we're going to add parking which we've always needed, and then we're going to take the first gym and make it into a state of the art wellness center with air conditioning," chairman of the capital campaign Tom Evans.
You can also expect to see newly renovated locker rooms, a new nutrition kitchen and a larger child watch area.
Part of the funds will also be used to enhance the campsite and pond at the Pocomoke City location.
We're told renovations will begin in the fall, and they hope to have the work completed in about 2 years.
