Senate Passes Food Safety Amendment

WMDT 47 NEWS - Addressing concerns over the future of food safety, The US Senate passed an amendment to prevent furloughs of food inspectors. It was introduced in part by Senator Chris Coons.

The amendment would transfer  $55 million in existing agriculture funds, to the "Food Safety and Inspection Service," to ensure food inspectors are not furloughed.
