Mar. 29 - College Savings Starts Here" Tour Comes to Salisbury April 2

GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - The College Savings Plans of Maryland "College Savings Starts Here" tour will make stops across Maryland to generate awareness for this last opportunity to enroll at this year's prices in the Maryland Prepaid College Trust.

On Tuesday, April 2, representatives from College Savings Plans of Maryland, an independent State Agency, will be available at Wicomico Library, Centre Branch, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm to answer questions, provide information and offer enrollment help for families interested in its two 529 Plans: the Maryland Prepaid College Trust and the Maryland College Investment Plan.

The Maryland Prepaid College Trust allows families to lock in future college tuition at today's prices and is backed by a Maryland Legislative Guarantee. Enrollment in the Maryland Prepaid College Trust is open through April 8, 2013.

The Maryland College Investment Plan, managed and underwritten by T. Rowe Price, offers a variety of investment options, with no sales commissions or loads, and enrollment is open year-round. Both of these Plans offer tax-deferred growth potential on earnings at both the Federal and State levels when used for qualified higher education expenses and are the only 529 plans that offer a Maryland State income deduction.

Parents, parents-to-be, and even grandparents in attendance will have an opportunity to speak with a representative from the College Savings Plans of Maryland as well as a representative from T. Rowe Price's Financial Planning Services Group.

Questions about the Maryland Prepaid College Trust and the Maryland College Investment Plan will be answered at the event, but specific financial planning will not be available. The session is free to attend and no registration is required.
