Posted: Updated:

DOVER, DE. (AP) - The Delaware State Police is investigating a head-on collision west of Dover.

Troopers say moments before the crash Tuesday on Forest Avenue someone called 911 to say the driver of a Kia Spectra was driving in a reckless manner.

Troopers say the crash happened at 4:08 p.m. when the driver of the Spectra, 24-year-old Joseph Iplenski of Hartly, entered the westbound lane of Forest Avenue and struck a Ford Focus head-on. The Focus caught fire after the crash and the car's driver, 27-year-old Brandon Boyer of Marydel, was helped out of his car by a witness to the crash.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Delaware State Police says charges are pending.
