Government Contractor Sentenced For Copyright Infringement

WILMINGTON, Del. - Homeland Security takes down of one of the largest piracy schemes in our country's history.

Government contractor 55-year-old Wronald Best has been sentenced to one year in prison for conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement. 

He obtained more than $2.3 million in stolen software from Chinese and Russian cyber-criminals.

The mastermind behind the operation? 36-year-old Xiang Li of China.

Li set up website crack99.com and advertised thousands of pirated tech-software titles worth more than $100 million. 

Li pled guilty back in January and is scheduled to be sentenced on May 3.
