Ocean City, MD - Residents at Ocean City are celebrating the 32nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade
Over thousands of people were in attendance. The parade included drum bands and marching bands from many different high schools, including Stephen Decatur High.
"It's a financial impact to ocean city. You could see the crowd on the streets now, it's unbelievable the traffic jams everything else. It's the unofficial kickoff of the whole season and the restaurants, the bars and taverns and hotels, this is a good windfall for all of them and it's a fun time," says Parade Chairman, Buck Mann.
Also in attendance was Derek Shannon, Political Counselor at Irish Embassy in D.C.
"It's an example of how far the irish have gone and the fact that everyone takes part in it, it's an international holiday. It's no longer irish anymore. It's a great compliment to us because to have your national holiday embraced as an international holiday is a great compliment!"
