UPDATE: Two Charged In Hartly Home Invasion

HARTLY, Del. - Two 24-year-old Hartly men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that happened earlier in the month. Delaware State Police arrested John Edwards and Robert Brown, after their investigation reportedly showed that they were responsible for the March 6th home invasion.

According to the report, Edwards and Brown arrived at a Brittney Avenue, one went into the home, while the other went into a motor home parked in the driveway. Inside the home, the suspect allegedly confronted a 29-year-old victim with handgun, took the victim's wallet and forced them outside, where he then assaulted the victim. Police say the suspect, the went inside the motor home, where he, along with the second suspect, got into a physical altercation with a 54-year-old victim. The suspects then apparently fled.

The 29-year-old was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Kent General Hospital. The 54-year-old had to be air lifted to Christiana Medical Center, where it was also revealed that the victim had been sexually assaulted.

An investigation lead police to arrest Edwards on March 8th, and Brown on March 13th. Both have been charged with 1st degree rape, 1st degree robbery, 1st and 2nd degree assault, home invasion, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, aggravated menacing, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and 2nd degree conspiracy. Edwards is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $191,000 bond. Brown is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $425,000 bond.
