WMDT 47 NEWS - Money keeps on flowing for local talent looking to pursue a career in the arts!

Get your paint brushes, drum set, ballet shoes or whatever tool aids in your artistic ability to apply for this scholarship. This year, the Cavallaro Cleary Visual Arts Foundation has $7,000 to disperse amongst Delmarva students looking to further their education.

"The kids on the eastern shore get very little, and we have nine counties. We do Delaware as well and Virginia, as long as they're on the eastern shore," said the founder, Marie Cavallaro.

Past winner, Cori Beardsley is a known artist in New York and professor at UMES. She now has her installation piece on display for the "Gallery Under Glass" exhibit at the Powell Building in downtown Salisbury.

"It's this cave that kids have just loved," said Cavallaro.

Scholarship recipients have been asked to come back and present their best work. Like Cori, that could be your chance to shine.

"We had a great time and it was so great to see the kids again and see what they're doing and their success stories, so I'm going to continue with this," said Cavallaro.

Keep in mind, students applying for this scholarship must have a GPA of at least a 2.5. Apply soon too! The deadline is at 5 p.m. on April 5th.
