DELMAR, Del. - Betty Elizabeth Phillips, 81, of Delmar, DE died on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. A graduate of Wicomico Senior High School; Betty started working for Peninsula Roofing Company in 1953 where she continued working for 41 years finally retiring in 1994. She spent every day in the summer time walking thru the garden looking for the next vegetables to ripen so she could cook it, can it, or just give it away. She also enjoyed steaming crabs on the porch and would always make the veggies to go along with it. She loved to cook for others and was one of the best eastern shore cooks around; when it came to ducks, geese, muskrat, coon, deer, green's, turnips and corn pone there was no better cook than her. She also enjoyed seeing her grandchildren Caroline and Carson play their many sports throughout the years and was always there for their games and playoff's. Betty always enjoyed the company from her friends and especially the ones who visited in the last month; those friends meant the most to her and her husband.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Lee Phillips of Delmar; two sons, Robert Lee Phillips and his wife Lorie of Delmar and Charles Harry Phillips of Salisbury; two brothers, Robert Franklin Robertson and George Henry Robertson and his wife, Rosalie of Salisbury; one niece, Michelle Lynn Robertson of Salisbury; two nephews, George Harry Robertson and his wife, Angie of Salisbury and Robert John Robertson of Hagerstown, MD; five grandchildren, Charlene Marie Phillips of Fruitland, Megan Victoria Phillips, Leah Renee Phillips both of Salisbury, Caroline Elizabeth Phillips and Carson Lee Phillips both of Delmar; great grandson, Jace Michael Phillips Anderson of Salisbury.
