Del. Teen Accused Of Reporting Fake Fire

Posted: Updated:

LEWES, DE. (AP) - A Delaware teenager has been charged with making a false emergency report of a fire.

The state fire marshal's office says the Lewes teen, a junior member of the town fire department, called 911 on January 2 to report a fire.

But the report was a hoax and firefighters found no flames when they arrived at the address.

The 17-year-old boy was charged Monday with a misdemeanor count of falsely reporting an incident.
