MILTON, Del. - A junior member of a local fire department, was arrested, after allegedly making a fake 911 call. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says that they have charged a 17-year-old Lewes teenager, with falsely reporting an incident, which is a misdemeanor.
Officials say that the teen, who is a junior member of the Lewes Fire Department, made the call around 8:30 PM on January 2nd, claiming there was a fire on Whites Neck Way. When crews arrived, they determined that there was no fire, or any other emergency for that matter. The call was traced back to the teen.
After being charged, the juvenile was released to the custody of his parents, pending a Family Court hearing.
