SALISBURY, Md. - Elwood Clair Rosencrance, Sr., 93, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury. Born in Huttonsville, WV, he was the son of the late Norval Rosencrance and Addie Tacy Rosencrance. He was a US Army WWII veteran and a member of American Legion, VFW and Bethesda United Methodist Church. He retired in 1977 as a manager from People Life Insurance Company in Washington, DC. He was an avid gardner, fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by 6 children, Sandra R. Esham and her husband, Dr. Robert Esham, of Salisbury, Nancy R. Gardiner of Ocean City, Elwood C. Rosencrance, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Parsonsburg, Joseph N. Rosencrance and his wife, Margorie of Colorado Springs, CO, Dr. Marsha R. Glynn and her husband, Dr. Ray Glynn, of Round Rock, TX and Arlene "Lou" Jones and her husband, Dennis of East New Market; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Ruby Bennett of Elkins, WV; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Nusser Rosencrance in 2010; 2 grandchildren; 9 brothers and sisters; and a son in law.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Officiating will be Rev. Rob Townsend. Contributions may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
