SALISBURY, Md. - Runners from across the Shore took to the streets of Salisbury in honor of a local cancer victim.
The 10th Annual Tim Kennard "10 Mile River Run & 5K" was held today at Salisbury University, with over 650 participants running, some bringing along their pets.
Kennard, an avid runner, died in 2004 after losing his battle with renal cell cancer.
"This is a very special day every year for all of us as we get together and we honor Tim's memory," said race director Harlan Eagle. "We put on a premier race for every type of athlete here on Delmarva."
All proceeds from the race went towards Coastal Hospice, the Salisbury Horizons Program and the Coalition of Caring.
