Restaurants, Bars Benefit From Bay Bridge Closure

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The closure of the Bay Bridge for several hours during this week's winter storm had one positive impact with a big boost for nearby bars and restaurants.

The Capital (http://bit.ly/Z4SiT6 ) reports the traffic standstill on Wednesday diverted many drivers to nearby eateries when it became clear the bridge would be closed for hours.

The River Bay Roadhouse in the Cape St. Claire mall was packed several hours after the bridge closed. Regular customers say they've never seen it so busy. Other nearby restaurants were jammed as well. At a Papa John's pizza shop, some residents were ordering pizzas from their cars in the parking lot.
