SEAFORD, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say six children were hurt when the school bus they were riding left the road in Seaford and became stuck in mud.
It happened about 3:15 p.m. Thursday on Cool Branch Road. Troopers say the bus, driven by 41-year-old Susan Burgess of Magnolia, left the road on a curve and traveled into a farm field, where it became stuck in the mud.
Police say the children, ranging in age from 10 to 17, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Burgess was not hurt. She was cited for failure to maintain a single lane and no proof of insurance.
