DOVER, Del. (AP) - Beer lovers in Delaware are toasting a bill being proposed by state lawmakers.
The legislation to be discussed at a news conference Thursday would allow liquor stores in Delaware to sell growlers of draft beer.
Growlers are glass or ceramic containers that hold half a gallon of beer and can keep the beer fresh for several days after being opened.
Currently, craft beer drinkers can purchase growlers only at breweries and brewpubs in Delaware. But surrounding states allow liquor stores to fill and sell growlers.
Supporters of the bill say it will help bolster local breweries and craft beer sales in Delaware.
