Wind Restrictions Lifted On Maryland's Bay Bridge

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Wind restrictions have finally been lifted on Maryland's Bay Bridge after being shut down because of high winds from a winter storm.
The Maryland Transportation Authority said the wind restrictions from Wednesday were no longer in effect and the bridge had returned to normal operations on Thursday.
Before the bridge was shut down Wednesday, a tractor-trailer hit a guardrail and tipped, leaning against the rail.
Authorities restricted traffic when winds surpassed 40 miles per hour. Gusts of 50 and 60 miles per hour forced them to close the bridge.
