Police: Man Leads Car Chase With 4 Kids In Vehicle

Posted: Updated:

GREENWOOD, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have arrested a man they say led troopers on a five-mile car chase with four children in the vehicle.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood. A trooper on patrol saw a speeding car and tried to initiate a traffic stop.

Authorities say the car drove off and continued for five miles, sometimes speeding, with the trooper in pursuit.

Police say the driver pulled over on Unity Lane and was arrested when he got out of the car.

Troopers say four children under the age of 10 were in the vehicle.

Twenty-five-year-old Frank R. Lovett of Greenwood is charged with four counts each of reckless endangering and endangering the welfare of a child, and more than a dozen traffic offenses.
