MARYLAND - In Annapolis Tuesday, legislators heard testimony on speed cameras in an attempt to decide if the current system is flawed.
AAA officials presented their information to a committee of the Maryland House of Delegates
After numerous allegations of "rampant abuses' by the speed enforcement systems, legislators are considering possible changes to the program.
"We've heard of so many inaccuracies and vehicles being cited when they were actually stopped, says Ragina Averella of AAA Mid-Atlantic, "we're advocates for the motorist and that's why we were here calling on legislative fixes to basically some of the problems that had been raised."
AAA tells WMDT, they support the idea of speed camera systems, but they believe the program should be better regulated.
