SALISBURY, Md. - Rosalie Esham Powell, 84, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Dink Esham and Etzel Tyre Esham.
She was a graduate of Buckingham High School and attended Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Berlin. She retired in 1991, after more than 20 years, from the Wicomico County Board of Education as a secretary for the maintenance department. Previous to this, she worked for the Wicomico County Library. She enjoyed sewing and passed this skill on to her daughters, family time and family dinners, camping with her husband and 3 girls, and crocheting afghans that she made for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Brownie Brittingham Powell; 3 children, Brenda Dickerson and her husband, Ed of Fruitland, Linda Powell of Waldorf and Diane Conner of Crisfield; 4 grandchildren, Douglas Church, David Church, Sheri Nelson and Jon Lemon; 4 great grandchildren, Camden Church, Blake Nelson, Hannah Lemon and Quinn Lemon; a brother in law, Edwin Massey of Salisbury; and 14 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with Rev. William Green officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and also on Friday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
