OCPD Warns Of Phone Scam

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Ocean City Police Department investigates a series of telephone scams touted as a fake sweepstakes.

They say the scam targets victims by telling them to claim their prize they have to buy a "Green Dot, Money Pac Reload Card" for between $200 and $500. The victim is then reportedly asked to contact the scammer who will "process the winning claim" only after getting the money card information.

If you believe you are a victim contact your local law enforcement agency.
