Report: Suspect In NY Crash Ready To Surrender

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - The 44-year-old man suspected of driving a BMW that crashed into a car in New York City, killing a pregnant woman, her husband and ultimately the child they were expecting, says he's ready to report to police.

Julio Acevedo told the Daily News of New York that he was fleeing gunshots at the time of the crash early Sunday in Brooklyn. He says he fled because he feared for his life. He told the newspaper that his heart goes out to the victims. The crash killed 21-year-old Nachman and Raizy Glauber.

Their baby, who was born prematurely via cesarean section, died Monday. Acevedo did not say when he was going to police. He was first reaching out to an attorney.
