Terrance Oliver, 29, Dover
DOVER, Del. - A Dover man is now behind bars on drug charges, after allegedly leading police on a chase. Delaware State Police say that around 11:15 AM on Saturday morning, a Trooper pulled over a dark blue Crown Victoria, driven by Terrance Oliver, 29, after he reportedly committed multiple traffic violations.
During the stop, the trooper says he went to his car to run a computer search on Oliver, but found nothing. When the trooper was returning to Oliver's car to tell him, Oliver reportedly sped away onto nearby Route 10.
According to the report, Oliver drove erratically and at a high rate of speed, on Route 10, before turning off onto Headstart Lane, and then into a field behind Greater Life Christian Church. At one point, Police say that Oliver jumped from the moving car, right before it crashed into the porch of the church. Troopers report that they had to chase down and use a taser on Oliver, who was apparently trying to flee on foot.
During a search of the scene, Police say they found 199 baggies of heroin, totaling almost 5 grams, along with $450 in suspected drug proceeds.
Oliver was charged with a slew of offences, including possession with intent to deliver heroin, resisting arrest, driving while suspended, along with 19 other traffic related infractions. He is being held at JTVCC on $35,514 bond.
Police say that the structural integrity of the church is still intact.
