MD Authorities Searching For Missing Woman

Posted: Updated:

STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) - Authorities in Maryland are searching for a missing Stevensville woman.

Maryland State Police said a dive team on Sunday would be combing the Chesapeake Bay near where the woman was last seen.

Troopers say 51-year-old Robin L. Pope was last seen Friday evening.

Troopers were called Saturday to the home of her husband, Wayne A. Pope Jr.

Authorities say the two had been living together until December when they separated. Wayne Pope told authorities that his wife had come to the home Friday to retrieve some belongings. He left and when he returned early Saturday he found his wife's car still in the driveway, but she wasn't there. He said his dog, a Great Dane, was missing.

Authorities later found the dog dead by a pier near the home.
