SALISBURY, Md. - A group of third graders rally around a local girl diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
The "Funky Monkeys" Destination Imagination team from Hebron has donated $3,788 to 8-year-old Brooke Mulford and her charity the Brooke's Wishes Foundation. Parents tell WMDT that the kids raised all of the money on their own.
"Anyone that you pick up the phone and call asking for help, when they did out it's Brooke, they'll do whatever it is you ask," said Jennifer Parker, the team's coach. "But I think it's special to see children her own age helping and seeing they can make a difference in her life."
The kids raised the money last month at a school dance they organized all by themselves.
