Red Cross Recognition In Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Friday kicked off "American Red Cross Recognition Month."

Officials from the lower shore chapter took part in the 3rd annual flag raising ceremony outside the government building. The Red Cross flag will remain flying for the whole month of March in honor of the efforts put forth, year round, by the organization.

John Culp, who is the Executive Director of the Lower Shore American Red Cross, said "the Red Cross has been around for over 130 years. Uh, we're very much a part of the fabric of American life. It feels real good to have it up there with "Old Glory.""

The Lower Shore Red Cross serves Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Accomack and Northampton counties. Local events for recognition month, can be found on our website.
