SMYRNA, Del. - A Smyrna man was arrested after allegedly raping a teenager. Delaware State Police say they started an investigation, after a 16-year-old girl told a family member that she had been sexually assaulted.
That investigation showed that on January 1st, 21-year-old George Curtis was at the victim's home, where he took her from, then stopped at a liquor store, and then continued onto his home, where he reportedly made her drink the liquor and take an oxycodone pill, before her sexually assaulted her.
Curtis then apparently drove the victim home, where he dropped her off. After the assault, Police say that Curtis continued to harass and solicit sex from the victim, on a regular basis, until Monday, when the victim and her mother reported the crimes.
On Wednesday, Detectives searched Curtis's Fields Drive home, where he was arrested, and charged with 2nd degree rape, possession of a controlled substance, sexual solicitation of a child under 18, sexual harassment, and providing alcohol to a minor. He is being held at JTVCC on $45,000 bond.
