Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police say an officer has been arrested for having two wives.

Police say 45-year-old Officer Wilbur Justice was arrested Wednesday. Police say an investigation began Feb. 6 after Delaware Alcohol Tobacco Enforcement notified the department that a background investigation found Justice is married to two women. Police say Justice was first married in 2008 and married his second wife in September.

Justice has been charged with bigamy and related charges. Police say he has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
