Search For New Salisbury Fire Chief Continues

SALISBURY, Md. - The Mayor of Salisbury agrees to move forward with the search for a new fire chief, by interviewing the current, acting, fire chief, Rick Hoppes.

Ireton says he made this decision after the City Attorney confirmed Hoppes could stay on as "acting chief" as long as the Mayor is actively searching for a candidate to fill the permanent position.

Ireton plans to interview Hoppes in two weeks, but he let the City Council know, he will make a decision on whether or not to submit his name for the job, in the first week of April.
