Va. Beach Woman Wins $1M Lottery Scratcher Prize

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - The first time was the charm for a Virginia Beach woman.
 
Tamika Pittman won the Virginia Lottery Scratcher game's top $1 million prize the first time she played it.
 
The lottery says in a news release that Pittman bought the winning Million Dollar Cash Spectacular ticket at Sav-A-Ton in Virginia Beach. She chose the one-time cash option of $653,000 before taxes.
 
The lottery gave the store a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
 
Pittman works as a tutor.
