SALISBURY, Md. - Alma Gertrude Roberts McGarvey, 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at her residence. Born in Alexandria, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Roberts and Mozelle Dunn Roberts.  She and her late husband participated in the Senior Olympics for many years, where they won in many sports. She volunteered at St. Francis Carriage House and taught swimming at the YMCA. She loved flowers, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by 7 children, Donna J. Carter, Mary K. Robert and Thomas E. McGarvey, all of Salisbury, Patricia A. Schoeb and her husband, Ron of Pahrump, NV, Jane D. Levesque and her husband, Richard of Epsom, NH, Stephen W. McGarvey and his wife, Gail of Manchester, NH and Michael J. McGarvey of Fruitland; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and her dog, "Elsie".  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. McGarvey and a brother, William Roberts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Holloway Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held also on Friday in the chapel at the Eastern Shore Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock.  Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, PA, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
