SALISBURY, Md. The Westside DI Imagistormers is a Destination Imagination team of Westside Intermediate students that formed four months ago to give back to those in need.

At first, they didn't know who to help.

"A lot of people lost their homes and a lot of people just need help," said Michael Klos, a fifth grader at Westside Intermediate. "Even if it was small damage like their dishwasher flooding or something like that."

The team chose to organize a silent auction and banquet to raise money for the Lower Shore's American Red Cross. Saturday night, they sold donated paintings and local items at the Elks Lodge in Salisbury.

The Red Cross is always there for victims of Sandy and other crisis, so we thought we could help put by doing this," said Matthew Guy, Westside Intermediate fifth grader.

For the team, the giving doesn't stop there. Guy says he is going to continue giving back after Destination Imagination is over.

Teammate Riley Peters, a third grader, says is "probably going to help pick up the litter all around the world."

"These kids are eight, nine, 10 [and] 11-year-old kids and you look at what they've done in this community and it gives you some hope," said Kevin Klos, Imagistormers team manager.

Destination Imagination is a national program that challenges students to solve problems and present their findings at different tournaments.
