January Teacher Who Makes A Difference

Posted: Updated:

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. -- When it comes to learning, a great teacher can make all the difference. Which is why WMDT and Accurate Optical recognize those teachers going the extra mile. Friday, we surprised Ms. Amber Dorman, a 7th Grade reading teacher at Mardela Middle School. She was nominated by a former teacher...turned colleague...who says it's been an honor to see Ms Dorman follow in her footsteps.

WMDT spoke with Joyce Taylor, a reading teacher at Mardela Middle School. Years ago, Taylor taught Ms. Dorman.

"She's so humble about her own ability as a teacher. I really think teaching, you either have it or you don't, and I think it's a gift and she definitely has that gift," Taylor tells us.

"I feel like being humble kind of makes me get on the level of my students and I can think about how they're learning and what I can do to help them learn better," Dorman says.
