WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - State police are investigating two armed robberies in the Wilmington area.
Both occurred Wednesday at locations about 8 miles apart. The suspect descriptions don't match, and there's no indication that the robberies are related.
Police say the first occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a precious metals dealer. Police say a gunman entered the We Buy Gold store on Philadelphia Pike and demanded money. An employee handed over some cash, and the robber fled.
Then, shortly before 9:30 p.m., two armed, masked men entered the Walgreens pharmacy on Lancaster Pike. Police say one of the men fired a round into the ceiling before demanding money from a cashier. Both gunmen fled with some cash.
