NEWARK, Del. (AP) - State officials are unveiling details of the first of several gun-control bills being pushed by the Markell administration in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting.
Gov. Jack Markell, Attorney General Beau Biden and other officials scheduled a news conference Wednesday to discuss proposed legislation to require the reporting of lost and stolen firearms.
The measure is the first bill to be released as part of a package of gun-control proposals announced last month.
Administration officials had said the bills would be introduced last month before the legislature recessed for budget committee hearings but now says the bills will be unveiled in the coming weeks before lawmakers return to Dover on March 12.
