DSP Investigating Fatal Hit And Run In Dover

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police say they are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened on Route 13 in Dover Tuesday night.

According to reports, around 8:00 p.m., a pedestrian, 38-year old Curt Burns, attempted to cross the Southbound lanes of South DuPont Highway in the area of South Governors Avenue. Police say Burns was hit by an unknown vehicle that did not stop after the incident.

Officials say Burns was brought to Kent General Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit says they are looking into the accident and Southbound Route 13 was closed for nearly 2 hours last night during the investigation.
