FRUITLAND, Md. - Rev. Thomas Greer Duncan, 79, of Fruitland, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury. Born in Bel Air, MD, he was the son of the late Flake E. Duncan and Gertrude Jones Duncan. He retired as a machinist from E. I. Dupont in Seaford after 30 years and was a US Army veteran. He also was an ordained Baptist minister for over 34 years, pastoring at East New Market, Mardela, Laurel and Pocomoke City. His hobby was building and flying radio controlled airplanes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Lee Brown Duncan; 4 children, Teresa Lynn Hathway and her husband, Kenneth of Sharptown, Janet Lee Fink and her husband, Monte of Martinsburg, WV, Janice Lorraine Bounds of Bivalve and Michael Lloyd Duncan and his wife, Elizabeth of Keedysville; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Jordan, Michael, Brittany, Matthew, Marvin, Chad, Kara, Sarah, Rebecca, Abigail and Stephen; 8 great grandchildren, Austin, Addison, Bradley, Dashon, Madix, Azeria, Jared and Logan; 2 sisters, Peggy Grogan of Salisbury and Betty Luznar of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jay "J.D." Duncan; and 2 sisters, Mary Podkul and Virginia Wiles.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury with Pastor Andrew Morgan officiating. There will be a visitation on Tuesday evening at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and also at church one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Contributions in his memory may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
