SALISBURY, Md. - Russell Burley Niblett, 72, of Salisbury, died peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake, with his loving daughter, Debbie, and favorite niece, Sissy, by his side. Russell was born in Salisbury on May 20, 1940 and was the son of the late James Garfield Niblett and Flora Chandler Niblett. Russell was a roofer and painter for many years and a member of the East Side Men's Club in Salisbury. He enjoyed fishing off the Ocean City bridge with his brother, Lefty, playing cards, shooting pool, and doting over his granddaughter, Lindsey. While Russell lived a simple life, his greatest gift to the ones closest to him was his unfailing love and caring about their wellbeing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Elwood, Billy and Lefty Niblett, all of Salisbury. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Hurley and her husband, Todd of Crisfield; 2 sons, Robert Niblett of Delmar and Russell Niblett of Virginia; a granddaughter, Lindsey Hurley of Crisfield; a sister, Linda Harrington of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. His son-in-law, Pastor Todd Hurley will preside. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
