Mar. 6 - 2013 Tim Kennard 10 Mile Run and 5K Run/Walk

GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - Timothy Kennard, 48 years old, and father of a 7 year old son, passed away on March 11, 2004. He fought a courageous battle against renal cancer. Tim is missed by his family and fellow running friends.

This run/walk is in his honor, with proceeds going, as Tim requested, to help children and animals. This year the proceeds will help: Coastal Hospice, specifically for pediatric cases and programs for grieving children who have lost a sibling or a parent to cancer; the Salisbury Horizons, which provides support, education and hope to children from  economically disadvantaged families; also, Coalition of Caring, a fund for our animal friends in need.

RACE INFORMATION:  Both the 10 Miler and 5K begin and end at Salisbury University. The 10 Miler and 5K (3.1 miles) wind through the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding the University and the Wicomico River. The 10 Miler takes runners into downtown Salisbury! For a map go to www.timkennard.org

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Each mile is marked and professional race management and timing are provided with chip timing. Runners in the 10-mile race must be able to complete the course in 2 hours 30 minutes.  To ensure runner safety, unregistered runners, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, baby joggers and dogs are strictly prohibited on the 10 mile and 5K race.  The non-competitive 5K walk will allow baby joggers and well-behaved cannines. This event will start five minutes after the competitive events. Sorry no dogs allowed in Salisbury University facilities. We will try to make your dog as comfortable as possible with water bowls, treats etc.!

7:30-8:45 a.m. Pre-Registered Runner/Walkers Pick-up and Race Day Registration (closes at

8 a.m. sharp–no exceptions)

9 a.m. Opening Ceremonies

9:30 a.m. 10 Mile and 5K Start

9:35 a.m. 5K Non-Competitive Walk Start

10:30 a.m. Post-Race Party and Awards Ceremony
