SALISBURY, Md. - Alice M. Polk, 86, of Salisbury died on Wednesday, February 12, 2013 at her home in Salisbury. Born on March 1, 1926 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Mary Adams. Mrs. Polk was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Salisbury where she was active in the St. Anne's Chapter and the Comforter's Prayer Chain. She worked for many years for Cavanaugh Ford; after retirement she volunteered much of her time at the Joseph House.
She is survived by her children; Sandra Frazier of Berlin, Patricia A. Simpson of North Garden, VA, Noreen J. Kilby of Boyds, MD and W. Donald Ludwig of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norris W. Polk and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Alice's memory to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 115 St. Peter's St., Salisbury, MD 21801 and the Joseph House, PO Box 1755, Salisbury, MD 21802.
