American Farm Publications' Agriculture Scholarship

Posted: Updated:

WMDT 47 NEWS - Agriculture is a major industry leader here on the Eastern Shore. That is why the American Farm Publications showcases its many talents, and informs the public about what's sprouting up in their backyard.

"We have three agriculture newspapers and one horticulture magazine," said Staff Reporter, Michel Elben.

Elben comes from a long-line of family farmers. While she may not be in the field, she's knee deep digging up the next story, and dropped by WMDT to spread the word about their scholarship opportunity.

"If I had known about this scholarship for example, it could have helped me a lot when I was in college," said Elben.

They've got 10 scholarships for $1,000 each for any student looking to pursue a career in agriculture.

"When we give out that money, we get to see the kids receive it and we're happy because we know that we've helped just that little bit," said Elben.

The deadline for this scholarship is April 1st, so apply soon. For more information on the scholarship, head to our homepage and click on the DEF Logo.
