SALISBURY, Md. - Perdue Farms made a historic donation to United Way.
At a reception at the Public House, Perdue and United Way officials
announced a $271,788 contribution from Perdue employees.
United Way officials tell WMDT about what this contribution means moving forward.

"This is a historic day because it's the largest amount ever raised for
our United Way by a single company," said Kathleen Momme, executive director of United Way-Eastern Shore. "It means there will be more Meals on Wheels, more hospice care for people with no insurance."
United Way officials say the programs will start seeing additional funding for this year in the next few weeks.
