SALISBURY, Md. - Shirley Ann Welch Webster, 77, of Salisbury, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her residence. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late George Leo Welch, Sr. and Velma Louise Harrison Welch.
Shirley was best known for her huge heart and selfless dedication to her family and friends, always putting others before herself. She was a loving and faithful wife, a dedicated mother, and a devoted grandmother. Her hobbies were shopping, cooking, and playing cards and bingo with her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, James Leroy Webster; 4 children, Deborah Kay Worden and her significant other, David Webster of Salisbury, Dottie Walls Gordon and her husband, Edward Gordon of Laurel, James Arley Webster and his wife, Sherri of Parsonsburg and Tammy Sue Campbell of Ocean City; 8 grandchildren, Cathi Worden-Parrott, Bill Worden and his wife, Amy, Ashley Walls, James Walls, Chelsie Webster, Marley Webster, Chuck Campbell and Donald Campbell; 4 great grandchildren, Arlan Parrott, Dylan Culley, Carolina Culley, Dakota Culley and one expected, Skylar; in-laws: Bobby Allen and Richard Layfield both of Salisbury, Sylvia Layfield of Salisbury, Karan Abraham of Bel Air, MD and William Henry Worden of Delmar, MD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, George Leo Welch, Jr. and John William Welch; a sister, Nancy Welch Allen and son-in-law, Jim Walls, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. Rev. William Kniceley will officiate.
