DOVER, Del. (AP) - The Delaware Forest Service is holding an Arbor Day poster contest for students.
Officials say the poster contest is open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The theme is "Trees are Terrific...in all Shapes and Sizes." Every class that participates in the contest can register to get free seedlings.
The Forest Service says it will choose winners in each of Delaware's three counties, with prizes awarded in four age categories. The Forest Service says an overall winner will then be selected. The winners will get $50 savings bonds. Teachers of students with a winning poser will get $50 to spend on classroom materials.
The deadline for posters to be submitted is March 28. Arbor day is April 26.
