GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - Cambridge is celebrating a once in-a century day on Saturday, February 16: Zipcode Day, 2.16.13! Sponsored by Cambridge Main Street, Zipcode Day offers a fun-filled day for all.
The highlight of this historic day will be a community photograph shot overhead from a bucket truck kindly provided by Eastern Tree Service.
Main Street Board Director Val Brown, of Powell Realty, and the volunteers on her Promotions Committee welcome everyone who lives in zipcode 21613 (and people who love the area!) to gather for this historic photograph. "Tell all of your friends and neighbors to join us for what we hope will be the largest group photo ever taken in Cambridge!" says Brown. "And let's share the love by bringing non-perishable food items to restock local food banks which are running low."
The event will be begin at 1:30 pm at Spring Valley (near the Post Office) with music and welcoming remarks from City dignitaries. Local cinematographer Roy Heisler will take the photograph at 2:00 pm. All are welcome: Girl and Boy Scouts, Church groups, schools, cheerleaders, Ravens fans, sports teams, businesses, grandparents and children -- are encouraged to come out in team or group shirts and hats and show pride in the community. Baskets will be available in the area for non-perishable food donations. Copies of the photograph will be available for sale (go to cambridgemainstreet.com after the event for details on how to purchase).
But that isn't all! On Zipcode Day, shop downtown for Zipcode specials, including:
