Memorial For Domestic Violence Victims To Be Held

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence is holding its annual memorial service.

The 25th memorial service will be held in Annapolis on Monday night.

The group holds the service to call attention to the problem of domestic violence. It also focuses on changing laws to reduce the problem, improve victim safety and create greater accountability.

The group says 49 people died in Maryland between July 2011 and June 2012 as a result of domestic violence. The victims included 28 women, 18 men and three children.
